This sensitive and essential course prepares massage therapists to recognize the signs of sexual abuse in clients and understand how to professionally respond if they experience harassment or inappropriate behavior themselves. The class covers trauma indicators, red flags during sessions, therapist rights, reporting procedures, and self-protection strategies within scope.

This course covers the following:

  • Identify signs and symptoms of past to present sexual abuse in clients

  • Understand legal and ethical responsibilities when abuse is suspected

  • Learn how to professionally handle inappropriate or sexualized behavior from clients

  • Explore reporting procedures, documentation, and therapist rights

  • Develop scripts and boundary-setting language for difficult situations

A non-refundable deposit of $48 is required to hold your spot. Once you complete the registration process, a confirmation email will be sent to you. The remaining tuition balance is due 2 weeks prior to class. Upon completion of this course, you will receive 4 credit hours, which you can apply to your NYS LMT registration renewal, NCBTMB certification, AMTA or ABMB renewal, and Florida State Massage Therapy renewal. Approved Ethics Course.
